Laura and I visited Brookfield Marsh September 30, just ahead of the deluge. We immediately spotted a juvenile Little Blue Heron circling the marsh but it landed east of the railroad tracks in an inaccessible area.
Our consolation prize was an even harder to find and photograph Wilson's Snipe. We also heard two Marsh Wrens.
Off in the distance on the west side of Brookfield Marsh were the first clear signs of change of season.
