The Eastern Kingbird is a large common fair weather flycatcher. It's not shy but is active like all flycatchers. This arrival is a leader with most arriving in May.
The Kingbirds are renowned for the fierce defence of their nest and territory, as some birder's and photographer's scalps can attest. Don't photograph their nests!
