Wood Duck and Pied-billed GrebeLaura and I went for a walk around the Frog Pond, Sir Sanford Fleming Park, Halifax, on Sunday November 16. Our target species were a Wood Duck and a Pied-billed Grebe. Both birds were easily found. Also found were hordes of birders, photographers and loose dogs. The Wood Duck was unusual because although it appeared completely healthy it was quite tame, as tame as the companion Black Ducks. The Pied-billed Grebe was less cooperative but was captured with pixels, none-the-less.
