Laura alerted me to a new bird approaching our kitchen window feeder. I blurted Western Tanager but Laura kept me out of trouble again and upon review of Sibley Guide to Birds I corrected myself to first spring male Summer Tanager.
The conditions were late day and gloomy and I only had time for a few quick shots, hand held, through the kitchen window. Perhaps it will return tomorrow and give me an opportunity to do better.
