Yesterday after photographing the Great Egret I returned to the marsh and immediately found a Tricoloured Heron. It was comfortable and feeding until a dog walker blundered into the marsh with a cell phone and it flew off.
The Tricoloured Heron was formerly known as the Louisiana Heron and is much smaller than the Great Egret. It's about the same size as a Snowy Egret.
