Grey Catbird

June 06, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

The Grey Catbird is our most common mimic thrush. Its kin are the Brown Thrasher and Northern Mockingbird. All three species are noted for their songs apparently sounding like renditions from other birds. The Grey Catbird usually uses only the first one or two notes from a song stitched together into a series of such notes. It nests in multiflora brambles including the bramble in our front yard.
