Pine WarblerThe Pine Warbler is a tough bird, often the first to arrive in the spring and the last to leave in the fall. It has nested in Nova Scotia for some time. The official confirmed first nesting is in 2010, but this is wrong. I have encountered this species on its nesting territory in the mature pine forests before that date and have encountered them ever year thereafter. Laura and I heard and saw our first Pine Warblers two weeks ago. There were several on territory today. I visit the breeding territory of the Pine Warbler before they nest and after they have finished nesting when the young have fledged. This is to eliminate human interaction during this critical period. Pine Warbler
