I used a 400mm lens with 1.4X and 2X teleconverters to obtain these photos. The Sandhill Cranes were working the drainage ditch which still held open water and hence unfrozen goodies to eat. I have a 600mm lens but it remained in its case. Perhaps if these cranes keep their distance I will pull it out.
