Flycatchers and Warblers

I visited three places in recent days, Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park, Dollar Lake Provincial Park and Meisners Head, East Chezzetcook.

At Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park I found my first Eastern Wood-Pewee of the year, apparently just a single male singing vigourously for a mate.

At Dollar Lake Provincial Park, a reliable haunt of the Eastern Wood-Pewee there were none present. I'm just a day or two early I suspect. However, I did manage to photograph a few warblers.

At Meisners Head, East Chezzetcook I was on the lookout for Blackpoll Warblers that nest here but although I saw one there was no opportunity for a photograph. I did however find and sucessfully photograph the Alder Flycatcher, a challenging subject at times.

There were numerous Yellow Warblers in the area and one posed briefly, all on a gorgeous spring morning.
