Northern WheatearI waited for a couple of hours to get these few distant photographs of the Northern Wheatear. This remarkable bird nests in the arctic and Greenland and flies to its winter home in Africa in one hop across the North Atlantic, a remarkable feat for this small open country thrush. A few by acts of weather or circumstance migrate south through Canada to the gulf coast to overwinter and hopefully return north in the spring. Northern Wheatear
