Yellow Nodding Ladies'-tresses Orchid

While taking our evening stroll on Monday August 30 the Yellow Nodding Ladies'-tresses Orchid was nowhere to be seen. But on Tuesday, September 1, it had popped out of the ground in small numbers and in a few select locations. It will continue to prosper until the end of September our latest and last orchid of  the year.

I was unable to approach the orchid to use my close up lens due to a ditch but I will find other examples later where the individual orchid flowers can be photographed. I actually photographed these orchids at 1200mm.
