Common Murres do not build nests. They simply deposit their eggs on cliff ledges. The Common Murres we saw were not nesting yet but rather standing about looking at each other and the ocean. The Black-legged Kittiwakes were nesting with nests built on sloping cliff edges, a feat of architectural design and a lot of crazy glue.
